British Airways has pledged to continue operating direct flights from London to South America following its tie-up with Iberia, but it admitted Madrid may become a new hub for flights to the region. British Airways is increasing its services to Brazil by doubling its weekly frequency to Rio de Janeiro from three to six flights. Flights to Rio de Janeiro will now depart Heathrow for Rio every day, except Mondays. The departure time remains at 12.15pm, landing in Rio at 9.55pm local time. A British Airways employee was sacked after he threatened to poison a strike-breaking pilot’s food, an employment tribunal heard. A British Airways passenger has been arrested after allegedly groping a flight attendant on a New York-bound flight. It is believed that a 53-year old man –  who was said to be drinking whisky at the time – put his hand up the skirt of a flight attendant, while her back was turned on a flight from London Heathrow.
